Judy McCarthy was born and raised in Bakersfield, California.

Kevin and Judy met at Bakersfield High School and fell in love from a young age.

“I actually liked one of his friends, but you know, Kevin’s personality wins you over, and he doesn’t give up,” she joked. 

The couple married in 1992 and are currently living in their first home together.

McCarthy was born in Bakersfield, California, on January 26, 1965, to Roberta Darlene (née Palladino) and Owen McCarthy, an assistant city fire chief.

McCarthy is a fourth-generation Kern County resident. His paternal grandfather was Irish and his mother grandfather was an Italian immigrant.

McCarthy’s parents were both Democrats, hence he is the first Republican in his direct family.
