Spain organizes sleeping competition and winner gets whooping $1,000 cash

In Spain, a sleeping competition is being organized where people are challenged to sleep for 20 minutes to win $1,000.

According to sources, the aim of this competition is to revive the traditional afternoon sleeping habit which has rescinded as a result of modern and bustling lifestyles of people.

Participants are challenged to sleep in the middle of a bustling mall and their heart rates are monitored to ensure they are truly sleeping as per the competition demands.

The winner of the competition is determined by the judges by a scale. Judges allocate marks based on how quickly one sleeps, how long they are able to sleep, their snoring volume and sleeping posture.

At the end of 20 minutes, the one with the highest mark across all the scales win a cash price of $1,000.

Organizers of this competition say they want to advocate napping practices in modern society which is now absent.
