Daniel and Joana had gone to study at their department. The couple returned with two friends, who escorted them to the university’s Disability and Rehab Centre.
After the friends left, Daniel allegedly attacked Joana, pushing her from behind, hitting her on the ground, stamping on her, and using his knee to choke her until she became unresponsive. He then dragged her into nearby bushes, took her phone and laptop to make it appear like a robbery, and fled the scene.
According to reports, Daniel has confessed to the murder of Joana, asserting that her death was an unintentional consequence of a domestic dispute. After his confession, Daniel was arraigned before the Circuit Court in Asafo today.
