Student sues her former high school for letting her graduate knowing she can’t read nor write
A student is sueing her former high school after they allowed her to graduate although they knew she was unable to read or write
19-year-old Aleysha Ortiz is suing her former school Hartford Public School in Connecticut, is suing the school district, the city of Hartford, and her special Ed teacher for $3 million.

She claims negligence, bullying, and harassment, claiming that despite her known learning disabilities.
Ortiz suffers dyslexia, ADHD, speech impediment, and an initial language barrier from moving to Puerto Rico in first grade.
She graduated from high school unable to read or write. She safs she reportedly asked repeatedly for educational support.
According to her, although she made her struggles known, she was instead faced with humiliation and yelling from her special Ed teacher, Tilda Santiago in front of her peers.
This mostly left her in tears and emotionally distressed. She is now accusing Hartford Board of Education of failing failing to address her disabilities.
