“AI will replace doctors and teachers in the next 10 years… Humans won’t be needed for most things,” Bill Gates predicts

Co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates, has revealed that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will replace several professions including teachers and doctors in the next 10 years.

According to him, “humans won’t be needed for most things” as AI will take over most tasks that currently require human expertise to deliver. Bill made these predictions during his recent interview on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon.

“They will make us smarter and more efficient for a time, and will unlock enormous amounts of economic growth, but they are fundamentally labor replacing.”

“At the moment, expertise remains “rare,” Gates explained, pointing to human specialists we still rely on in many fields, including “a great doctor” or “a great teacher.”

But “with AI, over the next decade, that will become free, commonplace — great medical advice, great tutoring,” Gates said.”

Bill however reaffirmed his belief about some jobs that will likely never be replaced by AI. He noted that people likely won’t want to see machines in certain fields, like sports.
