Highlife musician, Akwaboah has explained into details why he feels disrespected by his fellow Musician Shatta Wale during his address to the Nation.
Shatta Wale’s Address towards some happenings in the Music industry came about a month ago and one of the major topic he raised was finding a specific genre that can be recognized worldwide as that of Ghanaian Music.
His suggestion generated several discussions in the media with many thinking he has no much knowledge about Ghanaian music even as an artist because they believe Highlife music is already what Ghana is known for when it comes to music.
Akwaboah is one that found himself thinking the same about the Dancehall musician and to him, the entire comment about finding a new genre is a slap in his face as well as other artists who are into the genre.
He went on to mention some big names both presence and past who are into the genre before concluding boldly that the Highlife genre has been the one that represents Ghana ever since.
Akwaboah also made it clear he is not into music for the awards, the maim reason he refused to follow the crowd recording tracks that are targeted at winning personal accolades.
He made this revelations during an interview on Okay FM when he was hosted by Abeiku Santana.
