Amber Laura Heard (born April 22, 1986) is an actress and activist from the United States. She rose to notoriety in the early 2000s thanks to her parts in the movie Never Back Down and Pineapple Express in 2008.

Heard rose to prominence after starring as Mera in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), most notably in Aquaman (2018) and its forthcoming 2023 sequel.

Heard is a global spokesperson for cosmetics company L’Oréal Paris and a human rights campaigner in addition to her acting career.

From 2015 until 2017, Heard was married to actor Johnny Depp. When Heard claimed that Depp had been aggressive throughout their relationship, their divorce received a lot of media attention. Depp sued the proprietors of the British tabloid The Sun for libel in 2018, alleging Heard of abusing him and fabricating a story.

Depp lost the case in 2020, when the judge determined that Heard’s allegations had been proven to a civil standard. [6] Depp sued Heard for defamation in early 2019 after she published an op-ed in The Washington Post about domestic abuse.

Heard launched a countersuit against Depp in 2020. In April 2022, the Depp v. Heard trial commenced in Virginia.

Amber Heard parents

Patricia Paige (née Parsons), an internet researcher (1956–2020), and David Clinton Heard (born 1950), the owner of a small construction company, raised Heard in Austin, Texas.

Whitney, her younger sister, is her only sibling.

The family resided in the suburbs of Austin.

In his spare time, Heard’s father trained horses, and she spent her childhood with him riding horses, hunting, and fishing.

She has also competed in beauty pageants, though she has stated that she can no longer “accept the objectification” as an adult.

Heard was raised Catholic, but after her best friend died in a car accident at the age of sixteen, she came to identify as an atheist.

The next year, she left out of her Catholic high school to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles since she no longer felt at ease in “conservative, God-fearin’ Texas”.

She finally completed a home-study course and received a diploma.
