Andy Goram is a former goalkeeper for the Scottish national football team. Born in Bury, Lancashire, England, he began his career with Oldham Athletic and Hibernian, but he is best known for his time with Rangers in the 1990s, when he gained the moniker “The Goalie.” Goram was voted the best goalie in Rangers history in a fan survey in 2001. Goram represented Scotland in 43 international matches, including the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, as well as UEFA Euro 1992 and UEFA Euro 1996.

Following his stint with Rangers, he went on to play for a number of clubs, including Motherwell and a brief loan spell at Manchester United. Goram also played cricket for Scotland.

Goram was born and raised in England, despite self-identifying as Scottish, as the son of Edinburgh-born Lewis Goram, who played professionally for Leith Athletic, Hibernian, Third Lanark, and Bury in the 1940s and 1950s.

Goram was diagnosed with terminal oesophageal cancer on 30 May 2022, and he was given only six months to live.

When Jackie Taylor and Goram split 12 years ago after two years together, she reverted to her maiden name.

However, she maintains cordial relations with the goalkeeper and his partner, Miriam Wylie, who will become Andy’s third wife later this year.

Now, when she entertains clients on the ground, there’s a good possibility Jackie could run into the man she once sent away. As soon as Sir Alex Ferguson approached him, Jackie, who lives in Rochdale, Lancashire, said the controversial goalkeeper grabbed up the phone and dialed his son’s number.

She also stated that their son persuaded his grandfather not to pass up the opportunity.

The entrepreneur, who owns a corporate hospitality company, is now completely prepared to meet up with her ex. “It won’t be a problem,” she said. Andy and I get along swimmingly, so we’re able to act like adults. We’re terrific friends, and Danny will always be a part of our lives.”

“Andy phoned Danny to see what he thought,” Jackie, who never remarried, continued. The word “delighted” isn’t strong enough.

“The idea of his father actually playing for his cherished team astounds him.”

Goram’s second marriage, to casino croupier Tracy Fitzpatrick, ended in divorce six years ago, just months after he claimed she had cured him from alcoholism.
