Billioniare allegedly owes over GH₵30 million in taxes
It seems throwing a big party and spending lavishly on yourself on your birthday does not only attract the eye of the public but also calls those in charge of taxes to keep a keen eye on you.
Ghanaian billionaire, businessman, and founder of Bills Micro-Credit, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, is now on the radar of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
An initial income tax assessment conducted by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has revealed that the businessman owes a tax amount of up to GH₵30 million. This amount is provisional and may increase as further investigations are conducted.
According to a report by Citi News, Mr. Quaye has already paid an assessed import duty of GH₵11.4 million on a vehicle he acquired. The tax assessment concerns unpaid personal income tax that remains outstanding.
