Bishop Salifu Amoako ; Biography

Bishop Salifu Amoako is a Ghanaian prophet and founder of Jesus is Alive Ministry, born in 1966 into a Muslim family.

Details of the month and exact date he was born is unknown to the public as he has never spoken about before.

He began his prophetic ministry in the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi where he adopted the Christian title, Bishop Salifu.


Bishop Salifu grew up in a poor family who couldn’t afford to bare the financial circumstances to take him to school as child, leaving him with no option than to rather go to school at a mature age.

During his early school periods, Salifu suffered embarrassments attributed to his old age and that caused him to drop out of school having been in attendance for only a year. He became Wayward and took to smoking, drinking, and robbery.

Road Becoming a Man of God

Bishop Salifu was led to the Christian faith by a man called Awuah also introduced Bishop Salifu to the local Assemblies of God Church at Bantama, Kumasi in Ghana.

Bishop Salifu then left the Assemblies of God’s church because of the English Language’s constant usage, which he did not understand. He later joined  Evangelist Amoako’s Resurrection Power Evangelistic Ministry at Santasi. The church uses Twi as the medium of communication which made Bishop Salifu very comfortable listening to the word of God.

Bishop Salifu became very committed to serving at the church by doing menial jobs in the church as well as the house chores for the Prophet Amoako who later invited him to live with him in his house. Bishop Salifu became the mentee of Prophet Amoako. Bishop Salifu later added Amoako to his original name.

Before the death of Bishop Salifu’s mentor Prophet Amoako, Bishop Salifu was sleeping in Prophet Amoako’s car when he laid hands on Bishop Salifu and prophesied that the anointing on him would be transferred onto Salifu and God would use him worldwide.

Bishop Salifu Amoko later formed his ministry, Jesus is Alive Ministry, and was inaugurated on 19th January 1998 in Accra, Ghana. Bishop Salifu Amoako’s ministry emphasizes the ministry of Angels to humans because he believes that Angels are vehicles for spectacular and supernatural occurrences in the lives of human beings.
