Bobo, a striker with Sydney FC, has stated that he will retire at the conclusion of the season, capping one of the most successful careers in A-League Men history.

During his two stints with the Sky Blues, the Brazilian has 71 goals in 114 games.

With 27 goals in a single ALM season, he set the record for most goals in a single season, which he set during the club’s trophy-laden 2017-18 campaign, for which he was named player of the year.

Bobô kicked out his career at Sydney FC with a bang, scoring on his debut in the FFA Cup against Blacktown City and assisting on two more goals in a 3–0 victory [1]. He scored and assisted a goal in his maiden A-League start against Western Sydney Wanderers in the Sydney Derby, which they won 4–0. Sydney scored 34 goals in 14 games with to his front-line combo with Filip Holoko, Milo Ninkovi, and Alex Brosque.

Bobô scored the game-winning goal with a header in the 112th minute of the 2017 FFA Cup Final, making the score 2–1. With this goal, he was awarded the tournament’s golden boot for scoring eight goals.

Bobô scored his first A-League hat trick against Wellington Phoenix on December 23, 2017, as Sydney triumphed 4–1 away from home.

When Sydney defeated Perth Glory 6–0 on December 30, 2017, he became only the second player in A-League history to score back-to-back hat-tricks.

During a 3–2 win over Perth Glory on March 29, 2018, Bobô set the record for most goals in a single season with a double, bringing his total to 24.
