Brave Commander: Meet newly promoted Major General Kotia, Ex battalion commander in Liberia and special forces

We are celebrating a brilliant military leader and academic as he is promoted to Major General: A wonderful, awesome, and clever soldier, Emmanuel Wekem Kotia has just been promoted to the rank of Major-General in the Ghana Military.

He’s not just an accomplished military leader but also a man who carries a big heart, a great faith in Jesus, and a huge intellect, with a First Class Honours B.A. degree from Ghana’s premier institution of higher learning, the University of Ghana.

The gentleman is also the holder of a Master’s Degree in Global Security from Cranfield University in the UK and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Ghana. This great son of Ghana, who hails from Navrongo and attended Navrongo Secondary School, has had a long association with United Nations Peacekeeping:

In the DR Congo, he completed his tour of duty in 2019 after serving as the Commander of Western Sector for the UN Stabilization Mission in the DR Congo (MONUSCO.)

Two years ago when we were desperate to complete and commission the Library and IT Centre in my village, Ohawu, this man rallied some of his generous friends to donate at least ten computers, printers, and other resources to ensure the IT portion of the Centre was not left incomplete.

Major-General Emmanuel Kotia PhD, we rejoice with you in this well-deserved promotion and laudable achievement. May Almighty GOD take you higher, as you seek to lift high the Name of Jesus, and serve your fellow human beings better than before. We thank GOD for your life.
