Brenda Edwards is an English singer and actress. She is also a television personality and presenter. She is a panelist on loose Woman and a presenter on Songs of Praise on BBC One.

Brenda was born on 2 March 1969 in Luton, Bedfordshire.  Brenda grew up with her older brother and great-grandmother. Her parents died in a car accident when she was still a girl. There is no information on her educational background.

Beginning her musical career in the church choir, Brenda switched from gospel to secular music. by the time she was 18 years. She had sung at weddings, funerals, bar mitzvah, and local nightclubs. In 2005, Brenda appeared in the second series of X-Factor. She came out in the fourth position.

Her breakthrough came after she sang the vocals for the 1996 song Wiggly World Part Two by Junior Jack. She was later given a role in Chicago, a West-End Musical. She played the role of Mama Morton. She also played Pearl in Carmen Jones and Killer Queen in We Will Rock You.

Since 2019, Brenda has been a regular panelist on Loose Woman. She also played Deloris Van Cartier in Sister act: the Musical.

Brenda Edwards’ son is called Jamal Edwards.

Jamal died on February 20, 2022, after he had a heart attack from recreational drugs. He was 31 years old. Jamal was a music entrepreneur and a DJ.
