California introduces new bill to make self defense illegal if you didn’t try to “retreat” from the situation first
A new bill in California will make self defense illegal if the defendant doesn’t retreat from the situation or scene first.
The bill was released by Rick Zbur seeks to restrict self defense and mandates retreat and also do away with protection based on justification for the use of force.

With this bill, one can claim self defense legally only after he/she has been pursued by the attacker and not when defense was done outright.
According to the bill, it will also eliminate some of the circumstances under which homicide is justifiable, example is when defense is in protection of habitation or property.

The bill will also clarify circumstances in which homicide cannot be justified including when a person uses more force than necessary to defend against a danger.
