The family has reported that Powell has passed away. His wife, Alma, and children, including his two daughters, will also mourn the passing of their beloved husband.

His wife, Alma Vivian, died on Oct. 18, 2021. Despite being fully vaccinated against the disease, she succumbed to the disease due to complications from COVID-19.

She had already been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, which affects plasma cells, which produce antibodies. At the age of 84, she died of the illness.
