Countries that do not need visas to visit Australia

In Australia, the visa policy states that all foreign nationals must obtain a visa before visiting for tourism or business purposes.

Since 1994, Australia has not had any visa exemption program. Every non-Australian who wishes to enter the country must possess a visa before entry.

The only country exempted from this rule is New Zealand. Citizens of New Zealand can enter Australia with a visa-on-arrival through the Trans-Tasman Travel Arrangement and the Special Category Visa (Subclass 444).

This visa allows for complete freedom of movement across Australia, so New Zealand citizens are not restricted to a specific state or territory. This visa permits the holder to remain in the country, and it expires upon leaving Australia.

New Zealand citizens can remain, tour, work, or study in Australia with the SCV. The visa is not time bound and they can stay in the country as long as they wish to.

Citizens of European countries are also entitled to apply for an eVisitor visa (subclass 651). This is a free visa for multiple visits to Australia for tourism or business purposes for up to three months at a time within 12 months. No fee is charged for this visa.
