Cris Albert, the chief executive officer and owner of the Philippines distributor for South Korean sportswear firm Fila Holdings, was discovered dead on April 23 in Singapore.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Fila Philippines acknowledged the death of the 52-year-old Filipino entrepreneur. According to The Straits Times, a Singapore newspaper, she was discovered dead at the Fullerton Bay Hotel, and her death is being probed by police as an unnatural death.

Maricris Abad Santos Albert, the businesswoman’s real name, was also the CEO of Isport Life. According to the Fila Philippines website, it is the sole distributor and licensee of Fila items in the Philippines. Ms Albert earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Assumption College in Makati, Philippines, according to her profile. Wanda Louwallien, her mother, was a former supermodel and show choreographer.

How did Cris Albert died?

At around 01:05 a.m. on Saturday, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force were notified of an incident at 80 Collyer Quay. Ms Albert was discovered lifeless at the site and declared dead by a paramedic, according to multiple accounts. According to a police spokesman, the case is being investigated as an unnatural death. Fila Philippines announced her death on Monday, April 25th, 2022, in a Facebook post.

The statement reads, “Her family appeals to everyone to respect their privacy as they mourn in this time of immense loss. Information of her wake will be shared soon.” The post was signed off by the Albert families and Abad Santos. Cris was allegedly in Singapore attending a function at The Fullerton Bay Hotel last Friday evening.
