D’banj (Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo) was born in Zaria, Nigeria, on June 9, 1980, to a military commander and a devoted church dignitary businesswoman from Shagamu, Ogun State.

Soon after, they launched “tongolo,” which became a nationwide success. D’banj’s first endorsement arrangement was with Power Fist, an energy drink business, as a result of this.
The start of D’banj’s Music Career
No Long Thing, D’banj’s debut album, was released in 2005. Tongolo was the main song, and it spawned a slew of other tracks. This was his breakout single, and it was a hit. It also gave him the identity of Koko Master,

Breakup of Mo’Hits and start of DB Records
After months of conjecture and wild speculations, ace producer Don Jazzy announced the break-up of Mo’Hits via his Twitter account. Following the split, D’banj launched DB Records and signed his younger brother Kayswitch, as well as two producers, Jaysleek and Deevee.
D’banj’s Entry to International Fame
D’banj secured a multi-million dollar agreement with Sony in December 2012. “Pan African, multi-album contract with Sony Music‘s RCA Records,” according to the press release.
