President Akufo-Addo is highly convinced modernization of Ghana is gathering momentum despite the massive criticisms his government has been subjected to.
The country witnessed some good development once again when the Pokuase interchange has been commissioned earlier today.
The project is a four tier interchange that is aimed finding some gradually solutions to the heavy traffic problems in the country and it’s completion has given hope to the president that things are taking shape in terms of progressive transition from a traditional to a modern society.
Just few hours after the Commissioning, President Akufo-Addo in a statement wrote:
“On Friday, 9th July 2021, I commissioned the Four Tier Pokuase Interchange, the first of its kind in Ghana, the first of its kind in West Africa, and the second of its kind in Africa, which will help solve, once and for all, the nightmare endured for several decades by commuters within and outside of this vicinity.”
“It is important to put on record that the original contract design was for a three-tier interchange. However, through efficient management by my government, the Interchange was modified to a four-tier structure within the same contract sum.” He stated
Speaking about the sources of funds for the highly rated project, Akuffo-Addo sent a special thank you message to the Africa Development Bank for jointly providing fund with Government to execute the project.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, I express sincere appreciation to the African Development Bank, who jointly provided funds with Government for the execution of this project.”
“I appeal to the users of the facility, especially drivers, to adhere to the various road safety measures put in place for the safe use of the facility. The modernisation of Ghana is steadily gathering momentum, and I entreat all Ghanaians to join hands in building the Ghana we want.” He added
