Eknath Sambhaji Rao Shinde, an Indian politician, was born on February 9th, 1964 and is now the 20th Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He previously served as the Government of Maharashtra’s Cabinet Minister for Public Works (Public Undertakings) and Urban Development.

He represents Thane, Maharashtra’s Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency in the Legislative Assembly. In the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, he was elected for four terms in a row starting in 2004 and ending in 2019.

Eknath Shinde is a member of the Maratha ethnic group and is from the Jawali taluka in Satara, Maharashtra.

In order to make a living, his family relocated to Thane, which is on the outskirts of Mumbai. Eknath attended Mangala High School & Junior College in Thane until the eleventh grade.

In order to provide for his family, Shinde used to drive an autorickshaw.

On June 2, 2000, Dipesh Shinde, then 11 years old, and Shubhada Shinde, then 7 years old, went boating on a lake close to their village in Maharashtra. Both of the kids drowned when the boat capsized. Shinde experienced depression for a while. In order to keep Shinde’s mind occupied and away from despair, Anand Dighe offered him emotional support and gave him more authority.

Orthopaedic surgeon and elected Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha representing the Kalyan seat since 2014, Dr. Shrikant Shinde is Shinde’s sole surviving child (re-elected in 2019).

Eknath Shinde does not have a daughter. He has only one child who is a son. His name is Shrikant Shinde.
