During a meeting at the White House, French president Emmanuel Macron, interrupted president Donald Trump and corrected him on the topic of the kind of assistance Europe is providing to Ukraine with.
Trump stated that, “Europe is loaning the money to Ukraine. They get their money back.” While he was still speaking, the French president tapped him and began to correct him.

Macron corrected Trump saying, “No, in fact to be frank we paid. We 60% of the total effort. And it was through, like the US, loans guarantee grants. And we provided real money to be clear.
After this clarification and correction, Trump wasn’t entirely convinced as the look on his face showed however, he made no comments on the president’s answer.

Macron is here on an official visit. He’s currently trying to advocate for Europe and NATO while developing the relationship between the US and France.
