D.B. Woodside was born on July 25, 1969 in Jamaica, Queens, in New York. He is currently 51 years old.

He began his elementary education in New York, earned his MFA from the Yale School of Drama and his BA from the University of Albany, SUNY.

Woodside is best known for his television roles as the bass singer Melvin Franklin in The Temptation,Robin Wood in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Malcolm Franks in Single Ladies, Dr. Joseph Prestridge in Parenthood and the angel Amenadiel in Lucifer.
