Burton Leon Reynolds Jr. was born on February 11, 1936, to Harriet Fernette and Burton Milo Reynolds.
Reynolds has often claimed to have been born in Waycross, Georgia, although in 2015 he stated that he was actually born in Lansing, Michigan.
He revealed in his autobiography that Lansing is where his family lived when his father was drafted into the United States Army.
Reynold attended the Palm Beach High School, graduated, and furthered to Florida State University.
During 10th grade at Palm Beach High School, Reynolds was named First Team All State and All Southern as a fullback, and received multiple scholarship offers.
After graduating from Palm Beach High School, he attended Florida State University on a football scholarship and played halfback, starting in 1954.
Marriages, Divorce & Children
Reynolds was married to English actress Judy Carne from 1963 and later divorced in 1965.
In the mid-1970s, Reynolds briefly dated singer Tammy Wynette.
He got involved in a relationship with American singer-actress Dinah Shore(Who was 20 years his senior) from early 1971 until 1975.
He had a relationship from 1976 to 1980 (then off-and-on until 1982) with American actress Sally Field, during which time they appeared together in four films.
In the later part of his life, Reynolds got married to American actress Loni Anderson from 1988 to 1994. They adopted a son, Quinton.
The couple separated after Reynolds fell in love with a cocktail waitress, Pam Seals, with whom he later traded lawsuits, which were settled out of court.

Reynolds died of a heart attack at the Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida on September 6, 2018, at the age of 82.

Honorary Awards & Nominations
Reynolds was awarded an honorary doctorate from Florida State University in 1981 and later endorsed the construction of a new performing arts facility in Sarasota, Florida.
He also owned a private “dinner theater” in Jupiter, Florida, with a focus on training young performers looking to enter show business.
The theater later was renamed to the Burt Reynolds Jupiter Theater and closed in 1997 after Reynolds was declared bankrupt.
