Garcelle was born on November 26, 1966, in Saint-Marc, Haiti. She grew up with her six elder siblings. As a child, her parents divorced. She moved to America with her mom and siblings. She attended elementary school in Massachusetts.
She began her career as a model at the age of 16. in Miami. She moved to New York a year after where she signed with the Ford agency. She also modeled for Irene Marie Models. As a model, she appeared in commercials and shot print ads for popular brands like Calvin Klein, Avon, Mary Kay, and Nordstrom, among others.
In 1984, Garcelle began her acting career with a role in Miami Vice. She rose to fame after she appeared on The Jamie Foxx Show. she has appeared in several films and television shows. She appeared in Coming to America, Coming 2 America, White House Down, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, among others.
In 2020, she became a cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She is also a co-host on The Real talk show.
