Government in talks to borrow $170 million for preparations towards hosting All African Games

The Ministry of Finance has allocated an amount of One Hundred and seventy million United States Dollars towards the hosting of 2023 all African games.

Ghana will host their fellow African countries come 2023 and as such, the Ghana Sports Authority and the Ministry of youth and sports are stepping up with some early organizations to put things in place before the tournament.

An order paper made available to parliament yesterday 15th July states the said money will be used to finance the provision of sports infrastructure and residential facilities towards the All African Games.

While the dust is yet to settle on the controversial Loan agreement for the purchase of cars for MP’s the plan now to get that money is yet again another borrowing.

This time the loan source is represented by the CalBank Ltd as the facilitator, Lender and the lead arranger to help put Ghana again in a debt of One hundred and seventy Million United States Dollars.
