Newly crowned champions Accra Hearts of Oak have rejected an offer from Stade Reims to have Daniel Afriyie Barnie on trials.
Hearts according to a report filed by PhobiaNews rereceived a letter from Les rouges et blancs last week requesting the Hearts forward come for a trial with them for a month(August-September) before a deal is agreed for the Black Satellites skipper.
Hearts are unhappy with the request tabled by the Ligue 1 side hence rebuffing their request. The Phobians are bent on building a formidable side that will rule locally and internationally as was the case in the early 2000s and are strongly keen on keeping key players deemed important to this cause.
It is not yet known whether the player himself wanted the deal or not but considering the fact it is only a trial and not a direct attempt to purchase the attacker, Hearts are not ready to discuss it at all.
Barnie played a great part in the team’s league success and has arguably been the most improved Hearts player in recent weeks to quickly become fans favorite especially with that lone goal scored against Asante Kotoko that cushioned Hearts’ lead on the table in their title push.
