How did Percy Tau fare? News Update on South African Soccer Players’ Transfers

South African soccer player Percy Tau plays professionally. Both the South African national team and Al Ahly SC of the Egyptian Premier League use him as a forward. Al Ahly SC and Tau Tau reached a two-year agreement in 2021.

Tau, an eMalahleni native, began playing soccer professionally in 2014 with Mamelodi Sundowns. Between 2014 and 2022, he changed teams frequently, including a few on loan, before settling at Al Ahly. The South African forward may return to Anderlecht during the current transfer window after leaving Al Ahly, according to reports.

Where is Percy Tau now located?

In the Egyptian Premier League, Percy Tau is still a member of Al Ahly SC. However, there are online reports suggesting that Tau may be moved to Anderlecht. Although the forward’s contract with Ahly is set to expire in June 2024, it is unlikely that he will honor it given his recent history of injury issues.

The 28-year-old player had a productive first season at Al Ahly, participating in 28 games across all competitions and contributing eight goals and six assists. Thanks to his help, Al Ahly was able to win the CAF Super Cup and advance to the 2021 CAF Champions League final thanks to his help. Tau, though, hasn’t scored or assisted in a domestic game since November 2021, and lately he’s been in transfer discussions.

Additionally, after Pitso Mosimane, the team’s former head coach, left the organization, speculations of Tau leaving Al Ahly gained greater traction. According to a Voetbal Belgium report, Tau might leave Al Ahly during the current transfer window with a return to Belgium on the horizon, but nothing has been verified.

Due to an injury, Percy Tau is unable to play.

According to Ahly, Tau’s injury prevented him from playing for the squad for around a month, according to Ahly in June 2022. Another quadriceps injury, which has been a recurring problem for the attacker, was discovered by the player’s x-ray. As a result, team physician Ahmed Abu Abla advised him to skip games.

Tau’s history of injuries has reportedly irritated certain club managers, and there are indications that the Red Eagles are considering terminating Tau’s contract because they feel he is “injury prone,” according to a reliable source in Egypt. The first time Tau experienced an injury was when playing for Anderlecht in Belgium, where he was sidelined for more than three months.

Tau has sustained six injuries since joining Ahly in August of last year, which is the same number of goals he has helped Ahly score during that time.

Tau transferred to Witbank Spurs in 2016 after beginning his career with Mamelodi Sundowns. After that, he joined Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018, and in the same year, he moved on loan once more to Union SG. Tau has been playing for Brighton as his parent club since 2019, but in 2019 and 2020, he was out on loan to Brugge and Anderlecht, respectively. The soccer star and Al Ahly signed a contract in 2021, and since then, they have been dating.

The Wife and Family of Percy Tau

Tau was cared for alone by his mother. She was in charge of rearing eight of her children, and her name was Elizabeth Tau. Two of Percy’s sisters are Promise and Ingrid, and the other five of his siblings are named Tumi, Dumisani, Mogau, Milton, and Bradley. In 2018, his brother Mogay perished in a car accident.

Tau’s mother claims that as a result of his soccer accomplishments, their quality of life has improved. Elizabeth Tau was pictured beaming with pride and crying with joy when Percy was named the country’s football king and collected an incredible R462,500 in prize money at the PSL awards ceremony in Sandton.

Tau doesn’t seem to have a wife because he hasn’t yet wed.
