Young Thug’s attorney was allowed to continue representing him in his indictment on racketeering and gang-related charges by a Fulton County court.
A judge postponed a ruling on whether the 30-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, will be granted bail until Thursday, June 2. Williams’ lawyer, Brian Steele, is accused of having a conflict of interest because he represents other co-conspirators named in the indictment.
The state said in court that it may negotiate plea deals with Steele’s other clients, which may create a conflict if part of the deal includes Williams’ testimony.
Despite his “concerns about a potential conflict” over the representation, the court determined on Thursday that Steele can continue to represent Williams for the time being.

Jeffery Lamar Williams, better known by his stage name Young Thug, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who was born on August 16, 1991. He is regarded as a key personality in his generation, with his music having influenced the present sound of hip hop and trap music. According to Young Thug, he was expelled from sixth grade for breaking a teacher’s arm. He was sentenced to four years in a juvenile detention center.
