Jim Ovia Biography

Jim Ovia is a famous Nigerian businessman born on November 4, 1951, in Agbor, Nigeria to Mama Oromolulu and Obi Olihe

Aside being known as a businessman, he is a motivational speaker, and writer and also the CEO of Zenith Bank PLC.

He is the son of Delta State’s Agbor Kingdom chief Obi Olihe. His father passed away from a heart attack when he was just four years old. His mother is called. He has an elder brother whose name is unknown.


Jim is one of the most educated men out there with several certifications to his name from highly recognized institutions. His local education came at the Ika Grammar School, Bojiboji-Owa.

He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana, Monroe, Louisiana, and also a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Jim first gained employment as a clerk at Barclays Bank where he worked for three years before moving to the United States.


Jim Ovia’s married to Kay Ovia who is the Chief Executive Officer of Quantum Markets Ltd.

He has five children; Isioma, Zephia, Tito, Tomi, and Jesse.

Jim has proven to be a man of generosity with the establishment of a foundation called The Jim Ovia Foundation which seeks to invest in the Nigerian youths’ unlimited and untapped potential, The foundation has awarded many scholarships to high number brilliant but needy students.
