Actor Turn Politician John Dumelo has delved into development in Africa and of it have any connections with how long people stay in Political office.
In a post shared on Twitter, Dumelo seemed to have pegged Ghana and Nigeria when it comes to development in Africa for the reason being that their system of governance is almost the same.
While doing that, he gave credence to some political office holders in Africa as some like Ghana and Nigeria are 4 years subject to re election others like Cote D’iviore among others are 5 years.
Many other African countries if though they hold elections but it’s technically a shadow Monarch they are running like Cameroon whose President have been in power for almost 40 years, Uganda, Rwanda among others.
Ghana and Nigeria are the only two countries in Africa who’s presidents only spend 4 years in office. The rest spend 5 or 7 years. Question: is there a correlation between number of years spent in office and development?, considering Ghana, Nigeria vrs the rest of Africa?— MrDumelo (@johndumelo1) July 22, 2021
Dumelo’ post have seen a number of Reaction with many saying, the number of years a person stays in office have no bearing on their performance.
A good President is a good President, a bad leader even he’s given a million year would still be a bad one.

How rich are we?
We can extend tenor to 10years If a government decides to use it to steal we will gain nothing. If enough revenue can't be generated during those years to execute projects? If capital markets won't lend to the country? Knot!! It has nothing to do with tenor but discipline— CB (@carl_NB) July 22, 2021
John Dumelo contested on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the December 2020 Parliamentary elections at the Ayawaso West Wougon Constituency but lost to Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party.
