Simon Phillip Cowell is an English television personality, entrepreneur, and record executive.
Simon was born on 7 October 1959 in Lambeth, London. but he grew up in Elstree, Hertfordshire. He has two siblings; a brother and a half-brother. He is the son of Julie and Eric Seig Philip.
He attended Radlett Preparatory School and Independent Dover College. He also attended Windsor Technical College where he earned his GCE in Sociology.
After school, he worked menial jobs including being a runner for a film called The Shinnin in 980. He also worked in the mailroom of EMI but quit later on. He returned later after his ventures failed.
Cowell’s breakthrough came in 2001 after he was made a judge on Pop Idol. He is also known for being a judge of several shows including American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor US (2011–2013), and America’s Got Talent (2016–present).
He also created and judged on The X Factor UK (2004–2010, 2014–2018) and Britain’s Got Talent (2007–present). Cowell is the founder and sole owner of the British entertainment company Syco.
As a record executive and producer, he has signed and produced artists like James Arthur, Labrinth, Fifth Harmony, Noah Cyrus, and Susan Boyle. He has also signed successful boybands such as Westlife, One Direction, PrettyMuch, and CNCO.

His mother Julie was a ballet dancer and socialite. His father was n estate developer, property developer, and music industry executive.
