Kimbal Reeve Musk is a South African restaurateur, chef, and entrepreneur. He is the owner of The Kitchen Restaurant Group. Kimbal is also known for being the brother of Elon Musk.
Kimbal was born on September 20, 10972, in Pretoria, South Africa. Hee grew up with his parents, siblings, and cousins. He is the second child and son of his parents. Musk attended high school in Pretoria. In 1995, he graduated from Queen’s University in Canada with a degree in business.
Musk began his career as a painter in 1994 with College Painters Pro. He began a company, Zip 2 with his brother that same year. They later sold the company to Compaq. Kimbal later invested in his brother’s companies. He invested in X.com, which later became Paypal. In 2002, they sold PayPal to eBay.
In April 2004, he started The Kitchen Restaurant Group with Jen Lewin and Hugo Matheson. He also sorted Next Door American Eatery in 2011. The restaurant currently has over ten locations. He was the CEO of OneRiot from 2006 to 2011. He started Big Greenwith Matheson in 2011.
Musk is also the co-founder and chairman of Square Roots, in Brooklyn, New York City. He currently sits on the boards of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX. He was on the board of Chipotle Mexican Grill from 2013 to 2019. He has been profiled in major publications such as The New York Times, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, and Fast Company, among others. He was named a Global Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 by the World Economic Forum.
