At least 2 dead, 6 others wounded in series of stabbings in front of Las Vegas casino, police says.

According to police officials, a string of stabbings that occurred in front of a casino in Las Vegas on Thursday left at least two individuals dead and six more injured.

According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Capt. Dori Koren, three of the patients are in severe condition.

“The others appear to be stable but we will update as we know more information,” he said.

According to Koren, the situation is under control and everything seems secure. He stated that they had a suspect in custody and that a huge kitchen knife was used as the weapon.

Just before noon, the incident happened in the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard. It’s still too early to pin down a motivation, according to Koren.

“Our thoughts are with the victims of this senseless attack on the Strip today,” Clark County officials said in a statement posted on Facebook. “We are grateful for the quick response from our Clark County Fire Department, LVMPD and other first responders.”
