-Nigeria announced it has banned twitter
-John Dumelo took to twitter to write “Shutting down twitter is an attack on free speech“
-Some Social Media followers ask Dumelo to mind his business
John Dumelo was among some Ghanaian celebrities who expressed his disappointment in the Nigerian Federal Government for shutting down twitter.
Nigeria on 4th June 2021 announced that it has placed a ban on twitter. This was said to be in reaction to twitter deleting a post President Buhari Made which was against their community standard.
The government of Nigeria through its attorney general has said it is now illegal to use twitter in Nigeria and whoever is seen still using the platform will be arrested and prosecuted.
John Dumelo who himself is a Politician here in Ghana said “Shutting down twitter is an attack on free speech“
This of course would not slide without counter reactions from followers.
Some followers of Dumelo asked him to mind his business and allow Nigerians to fight their own battle.

My friend, just because twitter protests against the indian government tax hike doesn't mean you will blindly follow further government action against twitter, the president of nigeria violated twitter's terms of service and was sanctioned, the ban on Twitter is his retaliation— Brobbey (@brohumanbeing) June 5, 2021
