Remo D’Souza is an Indian choreographer, actor, and film director who was born Ramesh Gopi on April 2, 1974.
D’Souza was born on April 2, 1974, in Bangalore, to a chef in the Indian Air Force and Madhvi Laxmi from Olavakkode, Palakkad, Kerala. Ganesh, his older brother, is one of his four sisters. He attended the Air Force School in Jamnagar, Gujarat, for his education. He was an athlete in high school, winning medals in the 100 meter dash.
Remo D’souza attended Jamnagar College in Gujarat. He completed his 12th grade there, and it was during his HSC board exam that he realized he had lost interest in education. His father wanted him to join the Indian Air Force, so he dropped out of school and moved to Mumbai. He’s on his own with everything he’s learnt about dance thus far. He learned to dance via movies, music videos, and other sources. Michael Jackson is his mentor, he says, because he used to replicate his steps while watching him dance on TV and then choreograph his own steps by adding something more.
Lizelle, an Anglo-Indian from Mumbai, is Remo D’Souza’s wife. Lizelle is a costume designer who has worked on a variety of TV series. Dhruv and Gabriel are their two sons. D’Souza currently resides in Andheri West, Mumbai, with his family. [needs citation] She also collaborates with him on various initiatives.
D’Souza had a heart attack on December 11, 2020, and was hospitalized to Kokilaben Hospital’s ICU in Mumbai.
