Patricia Ann Brake was an English actress who lived from June 25, 1942, until May 28, 2022.

In the BBC sitcom Porridge and its sequel Going Straight, Brake played Ingrid Fletcher, Norman Stanley Fletcher’s daughter.

She made guest appearances in the BBC program Casualty and ITV’s Midsomer Murders in 2015. She performed in UK soaps EastEnders and Coronation Street, as well as in numerous situation comedies and one-off plays alongside many British comedy performers, in addition to her considerable body of work in West End theatres.

Brake’s first acting roles after graduating from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School were with the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she worked alongside Judi Dench, Diana Rigg, Ian Richardson, and Ian Holm. She starred alongside David Jason in TV shows such as Emergency – Ward 10, No Hiding Place, and A Sharp Intake of Breath, and in films such as My Lover, My Son (1970), The Optimists of Nine Elms (1973), and Love/Loss (1976). (2010).

At the age of 79, she died of cancer on May 28, 2022.
