Stacy Ann Ferguson, better known by the stage name Fergie Duhamel, was born on March 27, 1975. She first rose to prominence as a member of the hip-hop group the Black Eyed Peas.

Despite vocally incorporating rapping into some of her performances, she does not consider herself a rapper.

Fergie was formerly a member of the girl group Wild Orchid and the children’s television program Kids Incorporated.  She quit the group in 2001 and joined the Black Eyed Peas the following year. Before releasing The Dutchess, her debut solo album, in 2006, she collaborated with the Black Eyed Peas on two albums.

She kept working with the Black Eyed Peas, and they released two more albums together: The E.N.D. (2009) and The Beginning (2010). In 2017, she saw the release of her second solo album, Double Dutchess.
