Roberto Firmino is a Brazilian professional footballer who currently plays for Premier League club Liverpool and the Brazil national team as a forward or attacking midfielder.

He spent four and a half seasons at Hoffenheim after started his career with Figueirense in 2009. For the 2013–14 Bundesliga season, he was named the league’s Breakthrough Player after scoring 16 goals in 33 appearances. He joined Liverpool in July 2015. Firmino has been praised at Liverpool for his creativity, goalscoring ability, and work ethic, with manager Jürgen Klopp referring to him as the “engine” that drives the club’s counter-attacking approach.

He won the UEFA Champions League in the 2018–19 season, followed by the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup after scoring the game-winning goal in the final, and the 2019–20 Premier League title, Liverpool’s first in 30 years.

In November of 2014, Firmino made his international debut for Brazil. At the 2015 Copa América, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 2019 Copa América, and the 2021 Copa América, he represented his country.
