Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao Sr. is a former professional boxer and politician from the Philippines. He is known as “PacMan” and is considered one of the best professional boxers of all time. Since 2016, he has served as a senator in the Philippines.

Pacquiao grew up in General Santos, Philippines, and was born in Kibawe, Bukidnon. Rosalio Pacquiao and actress Dionisia Dapidran are his parents. After his father had an affair, his parents divorced when he was in sixth grade. He is the fourth of six siblings, one of them, Alberto “Bobby” Pacquiao, is a former professional boxer and politician.

Pacquiao traveled to Manila at the age of 14, where he lived on the streets, worked as a construction worker, and had to choose between eating and sending money to his mother.

Pacquiao attended Saavedra Saway Basic School in General Santos City for his elementary schooling, but due to extreme and abject poverty, he dropped out of high school.

Pacquiao took and passed a high school equivalency exam in February 2007, and the Department of Education issued him a high school diploma.

On May 10, 1999, Pacquiao married Jinkee Jamora. They have five children: Emmanuel Jr. (Jimuel), Michael Stephen, Mary Divine Grace (Princess), Queen Elizabeth (Queenie), and Israel. His first son, Jimuel, achieved superstar status as an amateur boxer, model, and actor, while his second son, Michael, is a rapper with tens of millions of streams. Queenie, his daughter, was born in the United States. He lives in General Santos, South Cotabato, Philippines, where he was born. From 2010 until 2016, he served as the congressman for Sarangani’s lone district, and he lived in Kiamba, Sarangani, his wife’s hometown. Senators are chosen on a national basis rather than by district, hence he returned to General Santos after being elected to the Senate of the Philippines.
