Meena Durairaj, better known by her stage name Meena, is an Indian actress who primarily works in the South Indian film industry as well as Bollywood. She was born on September 16, 1976. She made her acting debut in 1982 as a child performer in the Tamil film Nenjangal and afterwards made appearances in movies made by different regional industries. Over the course of her three-decade career, she has acted alongside well-known South Indian movie actors.

Meena has appeared in films in the following languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

In the 1990s, she was a prominent actress in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films.

Through the years, she has established herself as a top performer in the South Indian cinema business.

Meena is a playback singer, TV judge, and sometimes dubbing artist in addition to being an actor.

Among the many honors she has received are two Filmfare Awards South, three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, two Nandi Awards for Best Actress, and Cinema Express Awards. She received the Kalaimamani Award from the Tamil Nadu government in 1998.

Meena Durairaj was raised in Chennai (formerly Madras), Tamil Nadu, where she was born in 1976. Her father is from Andhra, while her mother is from the Keralan district of Kannur. Meena completed her eighth grade at Vidyodhaya School in Chennai . She had to drop out of school before matriculation due to her early admission into the film industry. But she received private instruction to complete her tenth grade, and in 2006, she graduated from Madras University with a master’s degree in history thanks to the open-university system. Meena speaks six languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and English. She is a trained Bharathanatyam dancer.
