Jeff Beck is an English rock guitarist who was born on June 24, 1944. After leading the Yardbirds, he went on to front the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. His recordings have covered genres ranging from blues rock, hard rock, jazz fusion, and a blend of guitar-rock and electronica, and he transitioned to a primarily instrumental style in 1975, with a concentration on new sound.

Beck is regarded as one of the finest guitarists of all time.

Rolling Stone, who has featured him three times on their cover, calls him “one of the most important lead guitarists in rock.”

He’s commonly referred to as a “guitarist’s guitarist.”

Beck has not achieved or maintained the commercial success of many of his contemporaries and comrades, despite having two hit albums as a solo act (in 1975 and 1976).

He has, nevertheless, collaborated with a wide range of musicians.

Beck has gained widespread critical acclaim and six Grammy Awards for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and one for Best Pop Instrumental Performance. He was awarded the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music by the British Academy in 2014. Beck was elected into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, once as a member of the Yardbirds and again as a solo artist in 1992. (2009).
