A Michigan woman has been accused of leaving three children alone in the house for years. The house was filled with trash and feces after they chanced upon it.
A Michigan mother of three by the name of Kelli Bryant left her children alone in their Michigan home for years to live in a resident in Detroit.
The children are a 15-year-old boy and two girls, ages 13 and 12. They were found in the house after the police went to inspect it following a call from their landlord, who had not been paid since October 2024.
According to the prosecutor McDonald, the children had been left alone since 2020 or 2021 and had only been communicating with their mother via text messages when they needed food.
“The children were covered with feces and the girls had difficulty walking outside the home. At the hospital, they struggled with flushing the toilet and brushing their teeth because they had not done it in years.
Kellie is now in police custody awaiting a court hearing.
