State Senator Angela Paxton, introduced the Senate Bill 3003, which would require online shoppers to prove they are at least 18 years when buying any “obscene device” (sex toy).

This bill will require shoppers to submit their government issued ID or undergo an gage-verification process before their purchase can be validated.

The bill has been met with several critics. It is alleged that the law is a form of privacy invasion as people will have to submit personal details. Others also feel threatened as these toys are mostly bought by the LGBTQ community who are not being scrutinized.

In Texas, there is already a law that prevents an individual from buying or owning more than 6 dildos.
