Nissan gifted a woman a brand new electric car after she found a racial slur on her vehicle’s oil change sticker
A woman from West Allis, Makayla Starks, has been gifted a new car by Nissan after she finding a racial slur in her car follwoing an oil change from an Oak Creek car dealership.
Makayla Starks found the “N-word” typed onto her service sticker by a technician at the Kunes Buick GMC dealership after what should have been a routine oil change in January.

After the appointment, Starks said, she got calls from the dealership, claiming they left a tool in her car that needed to be removed in an attempt to retrieve a sticker with a racial slur left behind in the vehicle.
“Several of them made attempts to cover this up with that lie and try to gain access to my vehicle, in order to remove the sticker,” she said. “Their regional manager suggested that they did this in an attempt to prevent any further harm.”
According to a spokesperson form Oak Creek, when the dealership learned of the allegations, immediate action was taken and the employee responsible was fired within two days of the incident.

Makayla has now received her new, free car from Family Nissan in Inwood, New York. She was gifted an electric vehicle, a Nissan Leaf, for free.
The reason for donating an electric vehicle is because Starks wouldn’t have to get any more oil changes. “She doesn’t ever have to look up and see an oil change sticker,” a rep from Nissan joked.
