North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has agreed to broadcast Premier League matches in his country, but under strict conditions

After opening its gates to the tourists, North Korea and their Supreme leader Kim Jong-un, are finally going to get the chance to enjoy some football action in the country.

North Koreans are going to enjoy the Premier League for the first time. It will be premiered on the national television, Korean Central Television (KCTV).

Although the matches will be shown, several conditions are attached including re-editing of matches and removal of footage featuring Douth Koreans and scenes of LGBTQ+.

The conditions for broadcasting the Premier League in North Korea are;

  1. Matches will not be broadcast live and will be re-edited before airing.
  2. Each match will be shortened to 60 minutes instead of the full 90 minutes.
  3. All English text visible in the stadium will be covered with Korean graphics.
  4. Any footage featuring South Korean players will be removed, including:
    • Son Heung-min (Tottenham)
    • Kim Ji-soo (Brentford)
    • Hwang Hee-chan (Wolves)
  5. Any scene displaying LGBTQ+ symbols will be edited out.

Kim Jong-un had initially banned Tottenham matches from being broadcast in North Korea. This was because of South Korean, Son Heung-Min.
