Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa has questioned Governments decision to borrow money for new infrastructures ahead of the All African Games instead of making use of the existing ones.
The 13th edition of the African Games is expected to be held in 3 cities in Ghana in the year 2023 on dates yet to be confirmed.
This has gotten Government on their toes to bring out an early preparations plan to ensure smooth hosting of the tournament.
The Ministry of Finance has already presented an order paper to Parliament that will see government yet again borrow an amount of one hundred and Seventy United States Dollars ($170m) to roll out their plans.
The paper explains that the said amount will be used for the provision of Infrastructure and Residential facilities for the tournament.
