Daniel Jason Sudeikis is an actor, comedian, producer, and writer from the United States. He began his improv comedy career in the 1990s, performing with ComedySportz, iO Chicago (Improv Olympic), and The Second City. Sudeikis joined Saturday Night Live as a writer in 2003 and starred as a cast member from 2005 until 2013, portraying Joe Biden and Mitt Romney, among others.

Daniel Jason Sudeikis was born in Fairfax, Virginia, on September 18, 1975, to Kathryn Sudeikis (née Wendt), a Brennco travel agent and President of the American Society of Travel Agents, and Daniel Joseph Sudeikis, a vice president of business development, both of whom were born in Illinois. Kristin and Lindsay, his younger sisters, are his only siblings. His father is Irish and Lithuanian, and his mother is of German and Irish background.

His maternal great-grandfather was photographer Tom Howard, and his maternal uncle is actor George Wendt, best known for his portrayal as Norm Peterson on Cheers.

Sudeikis was born with anosmia, a condition that causes him to lose his sense of smell.

Sudeikis and his family relocated to Overland Park, Kansas, which he refers to as his hometown. He attended Fort Scott Community College on a basketball scholarship after graduating from Shawnee Mission West High School, but dropped out before completing his studies.

Sudeikis began dating Olivia Wilde, an American actress, in 2011. In January 2013, they announced their engagement. Otis, their son, was born in April 2014, and Daisy, their daughter, was born in October 2016. According to People magazine, Sudeikis and Wilde’s romance ended in early 2020. Sudeikis revealed the split in an interview with GQ.

Sudeikis is a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs and Royals supporter.

Wilde got her current name after Irish poet Oscar Wilde, and she changed her last name in high school to commemorate her family’s writers, many of whom used pen names. She was accepted to Bard College, but she deferred her enrollment three times to pursue her acting career. She went on to the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin to further her education.
