A group of Nigerian students schooling abroad have taken to social media to talk about how their parents can no longer pay their tuition fees due to exchange rates issues.
According to one of the students, they are unable to register for classes due to the fact that they owe school fees. This situation also risks them of being evicted from the school if they do not settle their fees.
However, the whole situation of their parents not being able to afford their fees boils down to the unstable exchange rates and the burden it brings on parents .
The Nigerian currency is currently struggling and continues to devalue against the American dollar at a rather concerning rate.
This dire economic situation has made it a headache for parents to raise adequate money to pay for their wards school fees abroad.
