President Donald Trump says he’s not joking about running for a third term

Donald Trump told NBC News’ Kristen Welker in a phone call that he was “not joking” about running for a third term.

According to him, a lot of people have been telling him to give it a shot although he has just began serving his second term in the Oval Office.

When asked whether he wanted another term, the president responded, “I like working.”

“A lot of people want me to do it, but, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration. I’m focused on the current,” Trump continued.

The reporter went on to ask about “a possible scenario in which Vice President JD Vance would run for office and then pass the role to Trump. Trump responded that ‘that’s one’ method.”

When asked to give details about the other possible methods, the president declined to do so.

Donald Trump running for a third term is a direct violation of the constitution under the 22nd amendment.
