President of Afghanistan Run away leaving Presidential Palace after Taliban Fighters Took Over the Country

President Ashraf Ghani has left Afghanistan as Taliban takes over Kabul the Country’s capital, according to the country’s top peace negotiator Abdullah Abdullah.

President Ghani’s departure comes amid negotiations for a peaceful transfer of power after Taliban fighters encircled Kabul after capturing 26 of the country’s 34 provincial capitals in less than two weeks.

On Sunday, Taliban troops surrounded Afghanistan’s seat of power, promising it had instructed its fighters to refrain from violence and offer safe passage to anyone wishing to leave Kabul.

Since the American-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, the US has trained thousands of Afghan security forces.

It’s reported that America has spent over 80 billion dollars in training the Afghan Soldiers only for Taliban, a group US believe is a terrorist group to take over the country in a space of two months.


Live report by Aljazeera suggest people are in a rush to leave the country with anxiety growing high with a potential breakdown of law and order.
